March 2nd meeting review

• This was our 6th Meeting and although the weather and flu kept some guys away, It was great to get together at Hooligans to help a local charity.

• To date, excluding this month’s donation, The Guys That Give have donated over $36,000 to local charities – Amazing work fellas!! This is over $36,000 in just 5 hours!!! You should be very proud!

• On Wednesday, we heard heartfelt presentations from James Bay Pawsitive dog rescue, Youth Haven, Cody’s House Barrie.

The majority vote went to Youth Haven - Simcoe County’s only youth shelter providing support and life skills to homeless and abused youth between the ages of 16 and 21

• A great big thanks to Jim Garland and the team at Hooligans for their generous hospitality.

Thanks fellas – you Rock!!! I leave you with a message from Sarah Ingram at RVH:

As of last week, we’ve seen 81 kids and teens through our Urgent Care Consult Clinic in Emerg. After being assessed, they are seen by a three member team of Psychiatrist, Social Worker and Nurse within 48 hours and leave the building with a care plan and follow up sessions booked. We have been able to avoid admitting these young people into an inappropriate setting in almost every case. These kids are getting care close to home, keeping a good school routine and maintaining active participation in their family settings.

The only reason we can do this, is because people like the Guys That Give have given their support.

On behalf of these 81 families, thank you – thank you – thank you.
