February 2019 update

  • MEETING UPDATE

We had an great turnout for our 18th Meeting . Thanks to Chris and the staff at Moxies for hosting. The food was awesome!

Thank you to all those who were able to attend. If you couldn’t make it and haven’t sent in your payment for Wednesday’s meeting, please do so right away to avoid being put on the dreaded Guys That “Didn’t” Give List.

  • It’s super easy! If you still haven’t paid, you can:
  • 1. Go to www.guysthatgive.com
  • 2. Click on “make a donation”
  • 3. Submit your $101. Automatic service charge of $3.50 is included.
  • 4. Or…deliver a cheque made out to Guys That Give.

To date, the Guys That Give have donated over $170,000 to local charities. Congratulations!

  • On Wednesday, Morris Elbers, Steve Periard and Matt Cacchione introduced us to 3 great local organizations.
  • We heard presentations from Seasons Centre for Grieving Children , CNIB Foundation and Simcoe Community Services. The majority vote went to the Seasons Centre.
  • Guys were reminded of our ONE rule: Pay your money on time, or end up on the ‘Guys That Didn’t Give’ list.
  • We’d love to get the cheque to the Seasons Centre as soon as possible, so please get your $101 to me asap so we can quickly turn it into $10,000.
  • • 3 names in attendance were drawn to choose charities for the next meeting. You must be in attendance to have your name drawn.
  • • Next meeting will be at the end of May at the North Restaurant–
  • A note from Marcy at Seasons Centre:
  • Thank you so much to the members of the Guys that Give! It was a pleasure to see those that were able to make the meeting to hear just how Seasons Centre has impacted the life of our past participant Brynn. A remarkable young lady that was involved in our programs for almost two years, as was her younger sister and older brother. Brynn now gives back to assist children ages 5-12 in our “littles” group grieving the death of an immediate family member.
  • Your donation of $10,000 will be directed towards children involved in the below programs.
  • • Sons and Daughters: death of a parent by accident or illness
  • • Sibs: death of a sibling
  • • Child Survivors of Suicide: death of a parent or sibling by suicide
  • • What About Me?: Terminal illness of a parent or sibling
  • We could not deliver the services we do without caring and supportive people like you! On behalf of our board, staff, volunteers and most importantly our families THANK YOU!!

Marcy

Thanks guys for all you do for the community and our little group. You’re awesome.

Dave
